“The bigger picture I have seen from the course is that social media platforms trigger business clockwise, support sustainability and reduce operating costs of doing business.” (ICfD, Spring 2015)
UNITAR‘s course “Innovative Collaboration for Development (ICfD) is key towards a modern and organized business avenue. I had been using social media platforms for several year, but not effectively. During the course, I learnt how to utilize more options available in different social media networks.
The course revealed the importance of various social media tools for business enhancement. It offered practical exercises to ensure business enhancement. The bigger picture I have seen from the course is that; social media platforms trigger business clockwise, support sustainability and reduce operating costs of doing business.
Furthermore, the course created an opportunity to initiate and ameliorate personal communication platforms suitable for designated clients/recipients. Moreover, I learnt different approaches to employ social media tools in order to stay up-to-date with news or developing issues in the field of my work, i.e: Feedly, Twitter(hash-tags) and Pinterest. Also, I can employ social media updating tools to improve my blog while connecting with friends and colleagues in other social media platforms. Most importantly, the course has improved and helped updat my presentations, work and research on several agricultural value chain developments taking place in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific regions.
